I was surprised that Nissan chose to continue with the Titan considering its sales numbers the previous few years. Not a fan of the cosmetics of the new Titan, but I'm sure the first year of the Cummins engine option won't have any issues whatsoever.

you guys worried about slow pick up, are you rally car racers? what does losing 2 seconds on the 0-60 hurt? Do you go 0-60 everytime a light turns green? I had a diesel car and it was slow on the pick up too and my brother with his Hemi had a great time making fun of its take off speed...so what I'm saying is you guys sound like dodge hemi owners, and we all know what kind of idiots they can be.

No lol but I do a lot of traveling and if you don't have the Getty up you get cut in front of a lot in Atlanta Nashville ect. .....and before I get flamed for not needing a truck lol I have to have a truck to pull the camper, tractors and trailer..... you know truck stuff. So I want both truck capabilities AND a little punch when I smash the carpet....

Carl Goshen (spelling) CEO of Nissan kinda got his feelings hurt when Dodge let nissan lend its engineering skills on the Ram platform as at one time nissan was gonna sell a rebaged Ram as a titan with a few tweaks. Well when they filed bankruptcy Dodge said screw you nissan and walked away with the free engineering and design help. This left nothing for nissan to sell but the old titan while the went back to an empty drawing board.... yup sales evaporated. .. lost customers (Me!) Because in 2016 they were selling a 12 year old model!!! ... Carl vowed to meet and Challenge dodge on every single truck and van entry.... from heavy duty to light duty.... they went all in even cherry picked the best talent from the dodge design and engineering teams....

It's actually nearly 4 seconds as the F150 can do it sub 6 seconds if properly equiped.... that's an eternity lol

I originally thought I would go with the Titan but then came reason..
Pro
1. 6.5 bed
2. Diesel
3. Heavy duty frame, suspension, brakes
4. Designed for heavy everyday towing
5. Reasonable prices for commercial grade truck

Con
1. Infotainment is from 2008
2. No sunroof. Flame suit on.
3. Truck can't go in garage
4. Most on highway get like 17.7 mpg. Great for commercial vehicle but...
5. Such a big truck makes every day driving more difficult.
6. All that heavy duty will make parts expensive.

I tow a 8k boat (not all the time)
2k pound pallets in the winter. Like 6 (not all the time)
Lots of home projects and tow a flatbed for a tractor.

Nothing wrong with the Nissan. It's really just too much truck for me. And very light on options.

Does Nissan really think it will be able to compete with Ram?

I absolutely know how you feel! Cause I just replaced my 15 lariat crew with a new GMC Sierra! I had to go through the lemon law to get Ford to buy mine back. I originally just asked for a replacement, but the arbitrator considered the problems safety issues that diminished its use & value, & ruled for a full refund.

I know a redesigned truck is going to have some things that will need tweaked...but enough is enough! My truck was in 2 different Ford service/ body shops for a combined total of almost 6 weeks...and that was just for the door rattles/alignment/rubbing the fender, tailgate rubbing, loose leather, cooled seats (which somehow broke one of my seat heaters) dash warp, wind noise, broken glove box, rattling trim & console...& the list goes on! I stopped having them address new issues cause they couldn't fix the old ones.

Now before everyone on here says good riddance...let me just say my wife & I have bought 11 new ford vehicles. I traded in my F-150 about every 2 years...& wish I had never gotten rid of my 12 fx4! But my biggest issue with my whole experience (& why I bought a GM product) is Ford fought me the entire process! They had zero interest in standing behind their flagship product & trying to retain a very loyal customer! I know all manufacturers have issues, glitches, recalls...but for me it speaks volumes as to how companies treat a customer...especially loyal ones! I wasn't asking for anything extra...just what I paid for. Will I ever go back?...don't know...but if I do ...it will take a while for my wounds to heal! For now...I'm happy with my new purchase. It's quiet, solid, and everything I paid for functions as promised!!!

I'm glad I didn’t have to go the legal route. It worked out easier for me. I knew I wasn't going to be happy with my f150 quality early on. So the deal came up with some searching and it was my escape claus, as well financially profiting from the situation.
