I don't think anyone there at Nissan is under the illusion that they are gonna approach the big three in volume....
1) THEY ARE GOOD AT TURNING A PROFIT ON LOWER VOLUME PRODUCT LINES
2) THEY THINK THEY CAN PULL ENOUGH MARKET SHARE TO MAKE MONEY AND TAKE AWAY A GOOD CHUNK OF THE PROFIT MARGIN AT RAM.
3) THEY ALLREADY HAVE HURT THE BOTTOM LINE TAKING SALES ON FULL SIZE REGULAR AND HEAVY DUTY WORK VANS
..... not yelling just noticed caps lock on and to lazy to retype

Hopefully the new Titans are more reliable than the older models!

A couple of my buddies had the last version and they were always being worked on for one problem or another.

Kinda counter-intuitive to go from one first year model to another, especially one with brand new running gear from the ground up like the XD. Either way, enjoy it, it sucks to see you go but best of luck with the new truck!

Not entirely true all new from ground up. Chassis wise most of it is already based on proven and used design from there Comercial division. Aisin tranny well proven same one used in ram 3500+. Motor well tested.
I'm not too worried, but thanks for wishing me luck.

OP, good luck with your new truck.

Out of curiosity, when you were researching your new Titan, did you find any reason or discussion why the Titan truck sales were drastically lower than Ford and all the other truck makers?

There has to be an explanation for that huge discrepancy in sales figures, I'm just wondering why.

I mean, being outsold by a ratio ranging from 50 to 1 to 80 to 1, must have a rational reason, wouldn't you say?

One very big reason up until 2016. A 12 yr out dated truck. Although a very reliable solid truck still very outdated. 2005 Era they were around 100,000 units a year. But a joint venture with ram fell through in 2009 for the ram based titan. And they were back to the drawing board. Still leaving the old generation titan on the market.
Still one of my favorite selling features of the titan xd not everyone is going to have one.

Quantity sold doesn't necessarily mean quality product anyway. Harbor freight probably sells a lot more tools than Snap On. Burger King sells a lot more burgers than Backyard Burgers. Not saying the F150 is Harbor Freight and Nissan is Snap On, but if you think about it, quantity sold doesn't necessarily mean the best. Good luck with the Nissan. Come back in a few thousand miles and give a review.

I will. Over 1000km in and its great. Even fuel economy surpassing my expectations. Pretty much in line with the 2.7.

I don't blame you one bit, ford does not build a quality vehicle anymore (having issues with a explorer limited too). Like I've posted before, I want to love my truck and dumped a lot of cash into it but I just can't. This is the most uncomfortable truck I've ever owned regardless if it had no issues at all but we all know that's not the case and I'm sick of the it's normal or excuse of its a 1st run BS. I've owned several 1st runs with little to no issues.

Waiting for a ram or yota redesign and I'll be doing the same thing if I can wait. I need to see the Titan in person but congrats on getting what you want. Good luck and let us know how it's holding up.
