Default Fender trim

I like to look of the black fender flares but wasn't sure if it would look odd on a non 4x4.

Starting thinking about other options and using plasti dip on the stock ones came to mind.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Personally, I think they look alright on non 4X4's, but then again I might be bias. I probably need to add wheel spacers, but don't want to go too wide. Also don't want to trim wheel studs, so I haven't rushed into the spacers yet.

They are the Barricade Raptor style. I believe I bought them from American Muscle for under $300. I was going to go for the OEM style in black but they were about $400.

It looks good from the picture, but how well does these black fender flares match your AVS Aeroskin and the black lower grill?

I have both and just wondered.

I think they match the Aeroskin and the lower part of the grille good. Even matches running boards except for texture. Sometimes I think maybe I should paint the grille, but it matches the SE headlights.

To me I would stay away from them unless I had to have them. It doesn't matter how well you install them they will start to come loose and scratch the paint. It is happening on mine. I wouldn't have them on but to stay legal I have to.

The stock flares look the best, but don't provide much more coverage than having no flares at all.

Nice. I know what you mean with the grill. If you changed your headlights then I would say go for the repaint. I have found a Paramount grill that comes in matte black without the "FORD", but I do have some concern as to how will the grill lights would match with the Barricade flare lights.

Sorry I didn't ask this earlier, but do the flares have a kind of protective film/gasket to keep from rubbing the body paint? I can almost see something there.

There is a rubber "gasket" on the flare. I haven't had any problem with them coming loose. They have been on for a year now. Took the front ones off when I changed grilles and there were "marks" on fenders from the rubber seal, but would probably rub out. Not noticeable with flares on. I have been very happy with them. Have yet to hook up lights on grille or flares.
