OP, your signature is for a 2018 STX; you’re already out-of-warranty?

You want to get it from the same trim as what you have to match color and as close a match as possible as far as options go. Any extra options on the "new" FCIM might trigger a DTC, but the good news is that you can ignore most of the DTCs.
Also to keep in mind, XLT heated seats will not work with a Lariat Heated/Cooled seat FCIM, and you will not magically get dual zone!

So even the replacement one I got off eBay was throwing a fail to communicate with FCIM on the BCM. It's gotta be something else at this point.

Did you or anyone else make any modifications (physical or software) to the truck before the issue started?

Aftermarket radio install. Used the maestro kit. Even putting everything back to stock didn't clear up the issue. I see the same DTCs on the aftermarket kit and the stock equipment. I can only assume it's a wiring issue somewhere.

They say it a 3 week wait for the parts because they can not keep up with the demand. 8 days out of warranty and they treat it like it's my problem I don't feel this is right.
Follow up. I took the Truck to my mechanic. we figured out how to test it went to take it out and it started working. But it was not reliable. He had used United Radio in the past. We called them they said they could fix the FCIM so we sent it to them and they tested if for free. and it was working. Since it had failed for us we asked for a replacement. We got it back put the new one in and it work with no issues or programming needed. The total bill was 300.00 less then the dealer had quoted. We found out United Radio is who does the repairs for Ford.

Is this something you had to do through the mechanic? I'm thinking I may have a different issue since I tried a dash kit that didn't use the stock FCIM boards though. The scosche dash kit is self contained and it wouldn't work either. Went back to stock to see if the dealership can find something wrong end of this week.

Any ideas before i head to the dealer? Could there be a fuse out?

Thanks
I've had the same dealer diagnosed issue on my 2017 lariat, they say the FICM is on national backorder and I'm still waiting for a call. Started out throwing bad cross traffic sensor code, then blind spot fault, then all the radio and climate control buttons went out with all the driver door buttons as well. Radio and touch screen work, but can only be controlled through the touch screen and steering wheel buttons....u think Ford would have done something by now,I should talk to a lawyer.

Was there ever resolve from the OP and others with this. My 2015 Ford Edge is mimicking the problems shared by many in the thread. Currently diagnosing as a network communications problem between door modules, radio module, rear hatch module, GPS module and FCIM. I did swap out the FCIM from a junk yard a while back and it did not solve the issue.

Like many above, I have intermittent loss of control on my radio head (steering wheel controls fine), hvac, front windows, rear hatch, driver memory buttons. When these go down, the air bag light comes on and the outside temperature goes to ---. Occasionally I'll start the vehicle and all the systems will be a dead stick with no lights on the center unit. I'll have to pop the terminal off the battery to seemingly reset it.

Many thanks to those who could follow up with this since this thread is now a couple years old. Thanks!

I got mine fixed under warranty, the tech said it was a loose terminal connector, has not been any trouble sense.
