I got my Bilsteins installed last night and they have moved towards the top of my list of favorite upgrades, especially given the low cost and for the rears at least extremely easy install. My drive into work is a bit of city, highway, over railroad tracks, and the entire way driving on Michigan's famously bad roads.
I am normally pretty easy on the throttle, but turning onto a road after getting off the expressway I gave it a little throttle, basically like merging into fast moving traffic. Typically one of my rear tires would lift just enough that it would chirp the tires, which doesn't help much on actual forward motion. The truck remained planted and just went. Then later down the road I went over the same railroad tracks I have taken two F-150s over (my 17 and now 19) every weekday for the past three years, and it felt so planted and the rear didn't want to move side to side as these are angled tracks in relation to the road I am on, and a bit harsh. No trouble at all with the Bilsteins.
From a pure safety perspective, these things are a must have. The bonus is you feel a lot more confident driving the truck. Also a lot less nose dive on heavy braking.

Since you excluded performance mods, it's a toss-up between my tonneau and my audio gear.

Center storage - this isnt the one I bought, but pretty much exact same thing - this one is actually better than mine, mine came with "Raptor" logo pads which sucks, these ones are blank.

I have only seen a couple posts about a rear sway bar. I seem to get a lot of sway when pulling a snowmobile trailer in crosswinds. Does the rear sway bar help that? Or would 5100's be better for that?
