Factory Remote Start
So as we already aware, in order to get remote start working on a non-factory equipped F150 you need to add the VSS, Antenna, and get new FOBs. In some cases, depending on which remote start you can use your you current FOB without adding a new one.
So my question is this, how and what modules does the factory use and why can't we use those modules instead? Basically how is their setup different.

I actually found these guys that offer a plug in , 1 module solution. And they tie it into your current FOBs so theres nothing more to grab. Im about to order it so I cant say how well it works yet but its plug and play

They have a remote module if you wanted to use an app to start the truck from anywhere, outside of FOB range

If you get it from the factory, the necessary components are pre-installed and the feature is turned on. You simply buy the components, install them, and turn the feature on either at the dealer or with FORScan. Note - this is for PRE-SYNC-CONNECT vehicles.
I have been a remote starter installer for over 20 years and yes this system is very easy to install and requires no programming from the dealership but the problem with it is your very limited to the 200 or so feet of range. So if you only want to start your truck from your driveway this will work. But restaurants and other places like this it’s not very reliable. And the 3x lock is great if you only press lock a maxim of 2 times or you will be starting your truck all the time.
I install Compustar starters and we are able to do 3x lock start but we have the option to change it to lock unlock and then lock to start. This also does not make the horn honk at 6am in your drive way so you don’t **** of the guy next door sleeping. Just my 2 cents.

Why would you think the factory is different?

So aftr digging around a bit more I think I found the answer.
When the remote start is installed at the factory it is tied to the RKE, which is your BCM. Also, a different transmitter frequency is used to most likely get extra coverage from afar.
So to convert over to the factory module, you will need a different BCM, transmitter, and FOBs. This obviously does not include the programming of the BCM itself.
