Default Help..!!

Hey guys, hoping someone can help me here. I installed the oem led's this weekend with the RR harness. its the latest gen with battery wire. I have a 2017 Lariat 501a. Everything works fine....except the passenger amber C ring. sometimes it comes on when the door is opened/closed, sometime it doesn't. same for when you turn the parking lights on. it blinks fine though. I have drl's off and running in manual mode. Based on what I read, I changed 726-26-02 to xxxx-xxx0-xxxx (the 0 was a 1 for halogen) but when I do that, the overhead interior lights start to fade in/out like on a cycle and they do not turn off. I changed it back to 1 and they are fine. redid it and same thing with interior lights. regardless, it still did not fix the amber C ring issue. I also have 726-27-01 0000-xxxx-xxxx but that didn't do anything. if anyone could offer any help, it would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Hey Jeff,

I've been following the Forscan thread (where you x-posted to) and I think this is an issue with 2017's that hasn't been resolved yet. Just to prove that the resident guru doesn't have an explanation (yet):
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...8/#post5377972

Please, read a few pages after this post and see if some other members have offered things you might try or provide some information on what your as-built data is in certain settings. We need troubleshooters in order to get an answer and the more data the better.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same harness on each side or do you have 2 different configurations of harness? I ask because my 2015 needed double drivers harnesses to run correctly while 16+ needed a different config for driver & passenger lights.

@ mitcdenn- thanks. I read through the rest of the thread, didn't see anything to try. Appreciate it, glad I'm not the only one with the problem.

As for my harness, the passenger side has the battery connection wire and the driver side does not. I spoke to Dawson today at RR, he said to try switching the harnesses and see if that fixes it, and if it does, he'll ship me another drivers side for the passengers side. I won't be able to do that until this weekend, I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Jeff

Default Update to my problem

so after about an hour, I found that my passenger C led not lighting up problem is not random, there is a sequence to it. The lights work fine as long as you don't do this one thing. I tested a dozen times and it is 100% repeatable and looking back over the last 2 days when I saw the C led out, this happened every time.

1) open door, amber C lights come on like normal
2) start truck, shut door, they go off as they should
3) open door with truck running, then shut truck off
4) passenger C led will not illuminate, all other lights do
5) only way to get it back on is cycle the parking switch on/off/on

If in step 3 above, you shut the truck off, then open the door, all is fine. so for whatever reason, opening the door with the truck running is triggering something that when you shut the truck off, it kills the signal to the C led. if i just open the door, then close it, and leave the truck running, all is fine.

Any idea what could be causing this bizarre behavior???
