Default Factory Door Code

My truck has the door keypad. There was supposed to be a card in the owner's manual with the factory code on it. I looked everywhere and did not find it. I searched around the internet and found the following video that steps you through a simple way to retrieve your code:

Once I retrieved the factory code then I could set the 5 digit code that I wanted. This may be old news but it wasn't to me. I thought it might help somebody else.

Glad you found that. Yes, common knowledge here. Also, the original code is still active despite you setting a new code, there is no way to erase that code.

The code is also on a label on the back side (opposite of the fuse panel side) of the BCM.

I didn't think that you could delete the factory code but when adding my new code it asked me if I wanted to delete the code and add a new one or just add a new one. I chose to just add a new one.

Was your vehicle used? If so, then it was asking you to delete the prior owner's code. You cannot delete the factory code.

I bought it new. I am sure would not have actually let me delete the factory one but it did offer the option. I am just glad to be able to use the keypad now.

You can have up to 5 codes not including the factory code.

if you have a non pushbutton start just insert first key and turn, remove key, insert second key and turn. your door code will be displayed on the cluster message screen

Now you're all set to loan out your code...

....and not have to start a future thread asking if there is any way to prevent your EX from getting into the truck!
