Default F150 Cap/Canopy Advice needed

Hello
I just got my brand new f-150 with a 5.5ft bed this is the 3rd f-150 I have owned now and on the previous trucks I have used a flat tonneua style back cover but this time fancy a full canopy as we have dogs and thought a canopy would be a better option.
I have looked at the Leer brand only so far but wanted to ask other of there direct experience on a canopy cover / cap /back . I am in Alberta Canada
any advice welcome

This is a really good thread if you're looking for a topper.

^^^ what he said.

But I would recommend checking out where your dealers are. These cap companies funnel everything through their dealers (replacement parts, windows, etc.) so keep that in mind. I really love the fit and finish of my A.R.E.

With dogs, windows and circulation are key, and I would highly recommend the tilt down slider front window and either flip up side windows or at least a way to open up the side windows for the summer. Here's my dog setup - I'm seriously contemplating adding e-fans (thin radiator fans) to push down from the top of the dog box. This is the best functional setup I've ever had.

and the exterior:

ARE but isn't the point of the crew cab to have a place for your dogs to ride in the air conditioning and heat?

I have an ARE Z series. Get it wired with the 12v power and you can run small dash fans for circulation. But My pups ride in the temp controlled cab. As high drive and nuts as they are They ride with with me so I know...
