Default Extreme Offset

I am all for people modding vehicles to suit themselves, to each their own. However, I do not understand the -44 or -76 offset wheels plus spacers. I just saw a F-350 in MI the other day that literally had none of the tire under the wheel well and it barely fit within one lane on the interstate. What is the point of doing this?

Because as you said its their own taste and choice. Im in Canada so these are very rare but i seen a Denali 2500 done up with all wheels outside the fenders and i must admit i actually thought it looked bad ***. I know its beyond extreme but im glad that people dont stick with the norms and go outside the box or fenders lol

While they may look badass, they throw rocks behind and damage other people's vehicles, thats why there are laws in most of the US states that forbid tires outside the wheel wells unless they are covered.

They're test vehicles for Timken. The goal is to see how much strain can be placed on an average wheel bearing before it disintegrates.

You do it so you can lift the truck and put big wheels on it, but keep the low center of gravity... Seems pretty obvious...

I think they do the negative offsets so they can cruise around the mall wearing their sparkle pocket skinny jeans listening to Luke Bryan and think they're cool!

It's a fad just like anything else. People are always looking to be "different" somehow. Even if it's to the extreme.
In a few years from now it will go away and something else will be the new "cool" thing to do.
