Default Extang Solid Fold 2 Damaged Upon Arrival

I just took possession of my new tonneau cover purchased through an onsite vendor and as soon as I saw the box I worried about the condition of the cover. It looked like it had gone through hell to get to me. Extang seriously needs to do a better job packaging these things. Needs side protection like a tv would have.

Upon opening, I realized my fears were confirmed and two panels were scratched down to the metal.

Waiting to hear back from the vendor to see what my options are. See attached pics.

On a side note, here is what it looks like on the truck:

Sucks, but it happens. I'm sure the Vendor, will send you a new replacement, or knock off $$$, if you decide to keep the blemished one!

Was it shipped to you did you pick it up ? If shipped file claim with shipper, might be hard if you installed it. If you picked it up only recourse is vendor, Also might be hard if you installed it. other option break out rattle can and try to fix it.

Yeah, I didn't want to install it, but I'm in a difficult situation right now. I just PCSed from Germany to Washington, I'm still in a hotel (that's where this cover was shipped to) and the cover was taking up space. Plus it's about to get a whole lot wetter around here and I need some sort of protection from the rain.

Good luck getting a return/exchange after you have now installed it...

We'll see. I'm a reasonable man and the vendor seems reasonable also. If you read what I wrote above, it might shed some light onto why I installed it. It's not like I could just leave the cover in a garage until the vendor and I worked it out.

If you look at the timestamps, you posted that as I was typing my reply. Your best bet is some touch up paint

I just wanted it to be clear as to why I installed it. I'm with you guys: in a normal situation I'd never have installed it.
