Metlsa in Etown Ky caught fire last night.
They make the frames for the F150 and the SD's.


No word yet on how long this will halt production.

 

They should be use to it, they have a fire there almost every year!

 

Lol! You're right. I googled it and found nothing about the current fire, but plenty of past reports of fires. Seems like business as usual...nothing to see here folks...don't mind the flashing red overhead lights and the sirens, keep working!

 

4 alarm fires usually are more than a once a year occurrence?


ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The cause of a 4-alarm fire in Elizabethtown is under investigation.
All three fire departments in Elizabethtown rushed to Metalsa Plant on North Black Branch Road around 5:30 a.m. June 19.

The plant produces aluminum commercial truck frames.
Firefighters think the fire started in an oven.
No one was injured.

Great. If mine gets delayed much longer, I'm giving up. I heard last week it's supposed to be here in July. I'd hope that means my frame is already built at at dearborn.

 

Aluminum truck frames ? Is there a secret option to get aluminum frames I didn't know about. Lol
