Default Error code p0741

I got this code twice on my 2016 Screw. P0741 "Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off". The first time I reported it to the dealer and they flushed the trans fluid. 2 days later I got the code again. Both times it was on the freeway on an incline. Doing some research I found that if it's not the wiring it's possibly the valve body. There are some other possibilities but since I know someone who works for Ford they stated a known issue with the valve body.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm leaning to take the truck to an independent Trans shop because I'm loosing faith in the dealer and my warranties exp. FYI I already mentioned this in the Maintenance section .

Ok doesn't look like anyone's had this problem. Just though I'd share. It was a valve body problem. Shops charging me a total of $1600 to replace. Valve body cost $800

I haven't had the light...but I'm curious if you had any symptoms. My transmission when going uphill in 6th gear does this thing where the RPMs bump for a second then go really low. In the cabin it sounds like the engine is droning and the engine lugging. It takes a lot of accelerator input to get it to downshift and then when it does it drops right to 4th gear with a thud (and a squawk on some occasions). Sometimes it hunts for gears like it cannot figure out what gear to go into...and its bad like you can watch it jump from 5-3-4-2 and the shifts are rough. I always thought it was the fluid level but the dealership said it wasn't low. The reason I bring it up is that at least the issue where my vehicle likes to lug in 6th, I've watched on the scantool where there's a ton of slip when it's happening and my understanding was that the TCC is only unlocked when it's downshifting or there's acceleration. The weird part is that when I give it gas, the RPMs drop down form where they were when I was cruising and it's then that I'm seeing 50-100 RPM in slip. If your truck is under warranty good luck getting an independent shop to look at it. I was told by one that they thought there was something wrong but they didn't want to dig into it while it was under warranty.

I just purchased this truck and got an after market warranty at purchase . It has just under 64k miles. I didn't think they'd cover the repair because it was under 1000 miles after I drove off the lot but they did cover $1100. I only end up paying 500.

They light would only come on in 6th gear on an incline the rpms seem to increase slightly before the CEL came on. Other than that it seemed to shift perfectly.

Maybe you just need a software update. I wonder would there be an update available. On the dealer note. I took my truck to the local dealer in the area. Called on Thursday and made an appointment for Saturday. I realize Sat was a bad day and gave them the benefit of the doubt. At the end of the day they stated they had to have there master Tech do more testing and he wasn't available. So I left my truck over the weekend. Monday I received no calls. I make a call at the end of the day to get status. They tell me they're just started to look at it and will let me know. I get a call about 5 min later stating there trans techs are backed up and won't be able to look at it till Wednesday of Thursday. WTF.

I picked up the truck that day and drove down to the local transmission shop. I would of normally been patient. but I just felt like why didn't they tell me it was going to be this long in the first place. I also thought about stories where Dealers farm out there trans work so I'm glad I choose to use the local shop,

So I am sure that this topic is long dead, but same problem, 6R80 transmission, up-hill, in 6th, 250 RPM jump then goes back to normal after DTCs appear, no other problems. But I have a Mustang, not a F150. I went through a local shop and pulled the valve body myself. Had a Sonnax zip kit installed hoping that it would take care of the issue but the codes came back (Greatly improved shifting feel though!). Looking at installing a TransGo TCC valve kit next to see if that resolves the issue. Were you ever able to get this resolved?

There is a current TSB for 10R80s with a similar issue, the resolution being to replace the entire Valve Body Assembly.
