Default Engine dying after pulling trailer

Yesterday was the first day pulling our camper with the truck. Truck has 5000 miles on it. I pulled the camper for about 2 hours straight which included some curvy roads at 40-50 mph and highway at 60-70 mph. We stopped to get gas and food. Truck was off for maybe 10 minutes. When I started it back up it was okay for a second, then the engine slowly died, kinda like when you flood the engine on a dirt bike. It did this twice before I waited about a minute, started it up again, and let it idle for a few minutes before taking off. At the next gas station it made the same sort of sound and vibration like it was going to die, but luckily this time it didn't. This is the first issues I've had with the truck. Probably going to call the dealer when we get back, but I'm worried they wont be able to reproduce it since it happened after pulling the camper for a while.

Sorry should have mentioned this was after we got food, but before filling up. It was a larger gas station/town where I filled up though.

Did you see a check engine light or any other kind of warning light while it was acting up?

No I did not see anything. I didn't even notice it died at first until I went to turn the wheel and realized I had no power steering. Then when I tried again I listened and could hear the engine struggle and die.

Could be as simple as a bad/failing/fouling spark plug. Not sure that towing would have much to do with it, seems more coincidence than anything else.

Almost sounds like there is a water condensation issue going on. A lot of heat in the system from towing. Then you kill it and everything cools, allowing water to condensate and maybe pool up somewhere. Then when you restart it gets sucked into the intake and chokes out engine?

Just a far reaching guess.

not a bad guess. I remember the days of the 03/04 cobras getting heat soaked. Mine only did it a few times before I swapped to Twins.

Similar situation in this thread. Doesn't seem to be an unheard of issue.
