Default Engine Auto-Start/Stop feature stalled engine?

I was driving today and was coming to a stop light. I did a full stop and the auto-start/stop featured kicked in. When the light turned green, I let go of the brake pedal and tapped the gas. I guess it was just perfect timing cause that transition from brake to gas pedal cause the engine to stall and I had to restart the engine. Has anyone experienced this before? Do you usually leave this feature on or turn it off?

I live close and work in Washington DC so stop and go traffic is heavy most of the time.

Would like to hear if this has happened to anyone else.

I've had my truck for four months, 90% city driving, I never shut my auto stop / start off because I've mastered the pressure on the brake pedal. Circumstances like waiting to turn left I don't let the engine shut off. I have tried numerous times to try and "catch" the system between shut off and restarts however have never been successful. Hopefully it was a one off for the OP

It is scary. I put a red post-it-note tab next to the switch to remind me to turn it off as soon as I start the truck.

I pretty certain that only the 2.7 EB has the auto start/stop feature.

I've had my truck 6 months now and I still hate the feature! I stopped at a stop sign yesterday and my truck died just as started letting off the brake so it took a second to restart. Almost got me hit again! I turn it off as soon as I think about it when I get in the truck! Guess I need to put a post it note up there.

I have a procedure that's becoming habit:
Start truck
turn headlights on
press auto start/stop button
press T/S button twice
good to go

I also think I just happened to catch the timing right (or wrong in this case) thus making the engine stall. I've tried driving with it on again and tried not to step on the gas as soon as I let go of the brake pedal and there were no issues. Looks like I just gotta be a bit smoother when transitioning from brake to gas. I do turn off the feature when I know its going to be a hellish day of traffic in DC.
