Will the 2.7 have it's popularity later at trade in time? probley, maybe, time will tell about that and any potential problems. The 3.5 has proven itself. I'm gonna stick with it. My 2cents.

The 2.7 by design is the strongest engine block by far and way past capability for the 2015 truck when used as a daily driver and light duty 1000/1500 lb. hauler.

The EB, in one form or another, has been around since 2007. Official EcoBoost production began on May 19, 2009 at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1. Far longer than.. well, you know

BTW - the choice also depends upon with option package you order. Fer example, if ye order 502A on a Larry-At, the 3.5 EB is only ~$900 more beaverbucks, which makes it a relative bargoon, lol.

C'mon man this is a f150 forum, what year was it first used in the F150?

Good point but I would never chance it. I have had trouble getting work performed under warranty with no modifications done.

4 EB's in 4 years, don't keep them long! Props to you, But in all seriousness I believe you are the perfect 3.5 owner. Get in and get out after a couple of years or less before you could have any mechanical issues, Sounds like you either work your trucks etc. where the 3.5 would be best choice., or you like new trucks

I seen a new f150 the other day. In the back window it had "God invented turbo lag to give V8's a chance". I own a 5.0.......

I have talked with 4 different dealerships in Houston and they hardly ever have any in for engine service, I don't know why people label the Ecoboost like its some ticking time bomb. They have lil turbo engines in Europe that have 400k miles on them and the design of those engines can even hold a candle to the EB. The Ecoboost has done Baja.... Twice. It also went 100k miles with out an oil change. Also my buddy at work had to have his lifters changed out twice in his 6.2, under 40k miles.

Turbo replaced in my 2013 EB after 58,000km which would be 36,000 miles. My choice on my 2015 was the 5.0. Had too many issues with my EB. Maybe I'll go back to it in a few years when it's perfected

Not bashing it at all, I just don't have the confidence in it yet after my experience

Understandable. Engines are machines and no two machines are the same.
