Exactly. I realize most of this country lives on pavement only but those of us who use our trucks off-highway really appreciate this feature. Just try crossing a washout that runs diagonally across the road - meaning one front tire and one rear tire are pretty much hanging in the air - without a locker and see how far you get. The locker makes it easy - lots of times don't even need to put it in 4x4. As long as both rear tires are locked together the truck will crawl right across the bad spot. This photo shows the typical washout I come across constantly...and yes, the Jeep has a locker too!

Back in my 4runner hooning days, I converted a IFA 4runner to live axle and had a locker in the front. that was crazy fun.

I'd love to put an e-locker in the front of this F150. It'd be ridiculously capable at that point....to the point that I'd be more afraid of scratching the paint than getting stuck somewhere.

Better to have it and not ever need it than the not have it. I settled for a 2WD model because I don't off-road and only get a deep snow about 2-3 times per winter. I wouldn't have purchased it if it didn't have the 3.55 E-locker.

Everything could break. The feature is useful for those that understand how to use it AND have the possibility that they may need it.

easy to add a locker of various sorts. I think there may even be aftermarket electric lockers.....but one of the best you can get is the ARB air locker. Used with one of their excellent on-board air compressors (also useful for tires, etc.).
