Default electronic keyless tailgate release question

I have had the unpleasant experience of tailgate opening while driving on its own. I know there is a recall.
MY QUESTION,,Is there a code ,from the keyless code pad on drivers door that opens the tailgate? BECAUSE ,my tailgate opens when I press the 5 ,on keypad immediatly after punching my entry code. I cannot find ANY info on this. Not in the book, spoke to people that dint know it can be done. NOW,is it possible,Ford engineers have failed to tell people of that. ? What I have found,is,my last digit on my entry code is 5. I have accidently hit it a second time,or held the 5 too long, only to HEAR my tailgate unlock. Depending on the angle of the ground,AND,my weather seal from tonneau cover, the gate might not drop. Therefore, when I take off hard,or WORSE ,on an angle while driving/vibration,the gate opens,if I fail to be sure the gate is SLAMMED shut prior to driving, and after accidentally hitting the 5 after entry code.

Is this a feature ? and are other people aware of this code opening the gate?If not,MAYBE??? this is the answer to the ghost opening the gate when not desired.

Yup - been that way for a long time with the keyless entry pad. Enter your code and then press:

3/4 - Unlock all doors.
5/6 - Trunk/hatch/tailgate open.

Worked the same way on my '11 Taurus, and my wife's Navigator.

Wow,you can't believe how many people I met, while touring the country camping ,that dint kno about this. Guss it really doesnt matter, but ,unless I missed something, nothing in my manual tells me about this feature,AND,again, I wonder if the mysterious tailgate opening has to do with this .Like I said,It unlocks, but does not ALWAYS drop.So if an owner doesnt know of the feature, accidently hits the 5/6 ,gate lock releases ,and off you go with gate down. I often put my truck in reverse at lites ,just to check with camera and alarm. OK ,thanks folks,be safe and well

The morning after I bought my used truck, I was pushing buttons. "Oh, press this 2x, sure why not" Thud, into the garage door. Good thing it only went a few inches and the top of the gate is protected. The FOB icon sure doesn't look like a tailgate drop button.

Not sure I've used the remote feature more than a few times. I wanted to use the keypad a few times but forgot what buttons it is. Nice to use the keyless entry to open the truck door and lower the tailgate when I return from MTB ride. That's when I had the FOB locked inside. I don't lock it inside anymore though, not usually.

When I was a kid my neighbors 1980 something Lincoln had the keypad. Enter the code and press 5/6 and it would pop the trunk.

Amazing that after all these years that keypad is still a cool feature. I still wonder why nobody else has it, I use it all the time.
