Default Drl problems

the daytime running lights on my 2020 platinum are acting weird. when remote started, or unlocked by remote, the drive side "C" led is about double the brightness than that of the passenger side. also, when in park (when both sides should be off), the driver side stays on. and lastly, when lock by remote, the passenger side goes off right away as it should while the driver side slowly dims off like the interior lights. im hoping that its an issue caused by forscan since a co-worker was messing with it. does anyone know what could be the cause or what the fix could be? dealer is trying to tell me that both headlights need replaced and im not buying that

Ask your coworker if he can reset everything back to factory original. That would be my first step.

I agree with the above, return the forscan values back to the AS-BUILT data. Then you can begin properly diagnosing the issue. I know of more than a handful of 2020s that are plagued with electrical and software issues.

Incorrect Forscan programming can lead to all kinds of weird bugs. Have him restore it to factory and see if that fixes it.

Given the situations when the lights aren't working I don't think it is a DRL problem. It sounds like something to do with the lights and circuit.

Any other modifications aside from FORScan? LED's added elsewhere on the truck, etc?

Considering the coworker was "messing with it", hopefully he knows what he altered to return back to stock form. Or use the AsBuild data that he backed up in the evening of something wonky happening.

IF your coworker only 'messed around' with the DRL codes then you may be correct in saying you have a DRL system problem. Less likely though considering the problems exist not only when in motion (when the DRL is active).

One test could be to turn your lights to "off" to disable the DRL system, and/or disable the DRL system in your menus.

Stick a bowtie on the front; their daytime running lights never work right.😂😂

Worked perfect for 14 years on my 2002 Avalanche. But you do see lots of GM trucks and SUVs with one DRL out. The connectors are cheap, the bulb heat scorches the plastic, then the metal terminal opens up and doesn't make good connection.

Curious if OP figured out issue. I have accidentally done something in forscan to cause this in my 2020 KR F150 and now to my '19 Lariat F350...

On the 2020 dealer ended up replacing the BCM after 2 sets of headlights didn't "fix" it. Now that it's doing it on my F350 after enabling Bambi mode I'm pretty confident forscan is responsible for this.

i did end up figuring it out and it was in fact forscan. I’m not sure what, but I ended up going back and restoring everything back to default and starting over
