Default Driving in M

Sport shifter + 5.0 is pretty fun. I know the column shifter has the same functionality but the +\- switch on the column feels like it’s there more for towing and utility than hauling *** and having fun. I really like driving in M (especially with Magnaflow exhaust) around town and when traffic is getting thick.

The 5.0 ain’t too peppy from idle to 2000 rpm, but with the trans in M you can keep the rpm at 2500. It’ll scoot from there for sure. I’m sure driving in Sport mode might be “track faster” but for changing lanes in traffic and driving around town, M is definitely more responsive. It eliminates the truck from having to decide what gear it wants to be in when you stomp it. I can only imagine how much fun a Whipple must be with the truck in M.

Mostly I just like hearing the V8 roar. There I said it.

Any F-150 engine + Manual Mode + Sport Mode is fun when not in heavy traffic. Add Raptor Steering Wheel with paddles for even more enjoyment...

I know I'm officially old because listening to that constant drone from the exhaust at 2500+ RPMs would be annoying for my DD.

Yep... if you enjoy this driving style, the Raptor wheel should *definitely* be on your mod list.

First thing I do after I start the truck, activate S-Mode.

When I get out of the garage I select M then use the paddles to shift gears on my raptor steering wheel , the only way to go!

So you've never driven a manual transmission?

It’s as fun as you think it is, especially when you have “that guy” that won’t over you over but you have enough horsepower to go around anyway..
