Default Driver mirror memory sometimes changes

I usually never think about the memory settings on my Platinum but as of late my driver-side mirror is "off" from the memory setting. If I correct it and re-store the setting, eventually it is off again. I fold my mirrors every time I enter my garage and unfold them upon leaving, but I cannot link folding to the memory issue.

Has anyone else experienced this and, more importantly, has anyone gotten this fixed by a dealer.... if so, what did they do.

It is a minor issue but I wanted to get it addressed before my B to B warranty runs out......AZPLAT

Man, i thought i was the only one that had that issue. '15 Lariat. Aggravating as hell. No idea why it does it but if anyone has a fix i'm all ears.

lol... and I thought it was just me... 15 Lariat also. All memory settings stay put, but the drivers side mirror, which I have to reset 3 or 4 times a week.

Default Thanks folks....

OK, so it ISN'T just me LOL!!

I have, of course, been watching it closely since this post, thinking it was maybe the transition from driver 1 to 2 then back to 1 when my wife drives it, but of course it has not happened. I can fold/unfold as often as I like but it always returns to correct position.... always just the driver mirror.

BTW, there is also a thread I saw here recently where the driver's seat reclines, supposedly while just sitting there! Ghosts, goblins, pranks..... but anyway it is comforting to know it is not just my vehicle having the mirror thing going on.... thanks for the posts and I will keep observing and see if I can induce it some way.....maybe an exorcist IS in order........AZPLAT

My 2017 Lariat drivers side mirror has a mind of its own. I can set it along with the seats and wheel and save in memory. If i have to recall the memory because someone changed one of the positions the drivers mirror goes all the up and out to the left and continually tries to move further up and out (clicking and bumping) until I hit the mirror position button. It has done this several times and each time I re-save the memory positions after I correct them.

While I was in for the leaf spring replacement for the dreaded "clunk" I had them look for this issue and, of course, they could not reproduce the problem.

It STILL does it at random intervals.....just enough to annoy..... has anyone been able to get to the source of the problem.... several other noted that
they TOO have the issue.... oh well.... meanwhile my truck is almost trouble free so I can't complain after three years and 40K miles.....

I had my '16 in for a variety of issues recently and the wandering driver mirror was one of them. The same day I dropped it off the technician was moving my truck and another tech backed into my driver door with another pickup and gouged the door skin and knocked the mirror completely off. They replaced the mirror and the new one works as intended and hasn't wandered around (yet).

Maybe a replacement is needed but hopefully there's a software fix. The service advisor really didn't have a clue about it.

Sorry it took THAT to replace the mirror but maybe it will solve the issue..... who knows!! How long ago did that happen and how frequently did it "wander" before..... mine is sporadic and I cannot get it to do it at will..... oh well.... keep us posted if this fixes the issue...... AZPLAT

My wife's Explorer does this. I have to reset the driver mirror every 3-4 weeks. And sometimes the seat sets too far up. I think whats happening is when the easy entry\exit (whatever they call it) moves the seat back, it's either not moving back enough or too far forward when reentering. So over time, the seat is set too far forward. So I have to reset it to from time to time. My F150, has not moved out of place (knock on wood).

Had this problem on my 2016. Leaf spring isolators. Those little pesky white pads. I greased it and the clunk went away for a while but came back. Was still under warranty so had the dealer replace it. They just took my word for it. They didn't even drive it to test the noise. Noise never came back.
