Thanks Blackpony. I dropped my STX 5.0 at the dealership on Sept. 12 with only 1500 miles on it. The service manager called me yesterday from the truck while pulling his boat and he said the vibration was gone (mine shook the dash violently whist towing). He said the ring and pinion were way out of tolerance and ordered all new gears and shims. He also stated that he was surprised that Ford hasn't put out any bulletins on the issue. I am TDY until Sunday but am chomping at the bit to go get my truck back on Monday. Ford was awesome and also agreed to make a payment for me since it took them over two months.

awesome!! There is definitely an issue with the factory producing these rear diffs. I spoke to the tech that fixed mine, told me he has fixed 4 more since mine with the exact same issue!

Mine is an 18. 5.0 with 3.55 electronic locker and 4x4. They replaced the pinion, ring gear, and shims in the rear diff. I pick it up Monday morning so I will have a little more detail if I missed anything that the service manager didn't tell me.

At low speeds mine is smooth. But you get past 40mph and the vibration comes on. My Lariat was built in March and is 5.0 with 3.55 elocker. Prolly be after holidays before I can take mine back in and have this fixed once and for all!

Mine is a 2017, they replaced the ring and pinion, carrier, and all the bearings and seals in the rear axle.

Is there a TSB on that yet? Hope mine is not affected, but could be, as it only has 3,300 miles now. Thx.

No TSB on it, and I highly doubt there will be.

More than likely there never will be, same as for the front differential loose pinions that plenty have encountered requiring a full rebuild. Fingers crossed that the vibrations in mine are just the wheels needing a balance, just have not had a chance to get it to a shop with the Roadforce Elite to find out.

Good luck man!! Seems there are a ton of vibration issues with this new body style.. Ford needs to step up and take care of this!
