I have the opportunity to get a brand new set of Raptor boards. Can’t decide if I should leave the rails off or put those on, what do y’all think?
If those of you with raptor boards could post pics, that would be amazing. I’ve found some threads but not a ton.
They're functional, but not for rocksliders. They do protect the sides much better than the tube steps that come on these trucks, of course any platform style would as well. These are aluminum, and pretty stoutly built, and are wider providing better footing.
Nice. I've never looked closely at the RAPTOR running boards.
I have the typical factory chrome running boards on my new LARIAT at the moment. I am having a set of sliders fabricated and should receive them inside a few more weeks. Not that I plan on sliding on a bunch of rocks, I just like how they look, more or less. They have a kick out towards the rear wheels that I like. They also run the full length between both wheels so I can stand on it when reaching into the bed. I have sets on my Land Cruisers ('86 60 Series and '16 200 Series), they're manufactured by White Knuckle. https://white-knuckleoffroad.com/
Wish I'd thought to look for a RAPTOR set as an option.
If you or another person needs them for easier access to the cab, then they are worth it, as they tend to be a bit wider than the non-Raptor boards. If my wife didn't need them, I wouldn't have them. I prefer the non board sleekness, such that it is for a truck. But, for now, the boards stay...
dukmon, those are nice! I see you can get plating on those too. Those would be the cats butt with Linex on them to act as nonskid. The $$$$$ YIKES, but, we both know you have to pay to play. I think those are gonna look great!
