I ran across something interesting and wanted to throw it out there for comments/feedback. I was researching leveling kits and ran across this from ReadyLIFT... They have two F-150 leveling kits for 2015-2020. One for trucks equipped with the FX4 package (1.5” lift) and another for non-FX4 trucks (2.25” lift).
“To ensure proper leveling kit fitment, using a plumb bob line (for a clean vertical) to measure from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom edge of the fender at the 12 oclock position while the wheels are pointing straight forward. If this measurement is greater than 22" then the truck already has some factory front lift compared to a base truck.”
They say that incorrectly using the 2.25” leveling kit on a truck with +22” distance may result in “overlift” and UCA suspension component interference and/or excessive ball joint wear.
Thoughts?

Possibly the FX4 has stiffer front springs causing it to ride slightly higher in the front but that's just a guess. I doubt the FX4's have different control arms or knuckle from the non-FX4.
It's BS, not sure why they say that.
First hand experience: My '17 I installed the Rancho Loaded coilovers, got 2.5" lift, his truck was NOT an FX4.
I removed those coilovers, and put them on my '20 FX4, got 2.5" lift on it as well.
And yes, prior to that install, I had 22.5" from center of hub to the top of the wheel arch.
All components, UCA, LCA, and mounts appeared the same on both trucks.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the fx4 is higher in the front. My 2018 FX4 with no modifications looks level to the eye but when I measure there is a 1.5” rake. 37.5” front and 39” back. Measured from ground to edge of center is wheel well.
measured again from center of wheel. 22.25 and 23.75 front to back.
