Default Dear FordIVTteam

FordIVTteam,

Are there plans to update/redesign or otherwise implement a new Sync/MFT system on Ford vehicles in the near future?

I understand that specific info may not be available for public release but I'm sure a lot of us are wondering and if you could let us know any available info (or hints), that would be awesome.

I like my MFT but I would like to see more robust features added and some new improvements so that the IVT is on par with Dodge and GM.

I recently got to look at a coworkers new Dodge infotainment system and I was impressed, and a bit envious.

I've read Ford dumped Microsoft in favor of [Blackberry] and just speculate that this will mean a new software infotainment system soon as well.

Also, will hardware be changing as in touch screens?

Thanks for your hard work and I look forward to future technology from your team.

Interesting.

I am able to use my Siri via BT now by using the iPhone button on the iPhone but that would be nice to have interface on the screen.

Being one of the few Windows Phone fans, this Sync has been a great let down. So much integration opportunity, especially with what Microsoft is doing now, but never has been and now never will be realized. The MFT Navigation is terrible compared to what you can do with a phone. And to move to dying Blackberry... I don't know much about this move but on the surface (no technical pun intended) it doesn't look favorable to me. I really wish they would have stepped up the effort with MS myself but as it stood something needed to be done current state is not good.

Nice would be MFT voice command to call up Siri, right?

On WP, I can 'call corona' to interact (cortana is siri counterpart on WP). Its neat, and until recently held great promise... personal assistant at the touch of a steering wheel button. Set a reminder, send a text, sky is the limit all somewhat safely while driving down the road. I wonder, does siri show up as a contact in your phone book to provide this functionality today? But I guess, not much advantage over just hitting the iPhone button unless you keep your phone stowed away like I do. Sorry for rambling... lol.

I know what you're thinking, but Blackberry bought this tech company a while back that is the best of the best in this field.
I have a good feeling about this, which is also the primary reason as to why i will have to hold myslef back from getting one these just yet.

I heard enough complaints and bad reports on sync that i don't even want to bother

There is a new "HEY SIRI" Hands free setting in the new IOS 8
Check it out and see what that does for us. T.P.

Android has had this 'feature' for a while 'ok google'.

Of course, this means the phone is listening all the time...

It would be nice if someone put a system in a vehicle that was not biased toward any specific phone type.

To further on this question, when might we see systems with Android Auto or Apple Carplay since Ford has partnered or at least agreed to both systems.
