15-18 you have to remove the grill to get the headlight assembly out. It is not too hard just a PITA.

I actually have one of those, and it's the first thing I grabbed out of my toolbox. Pushed the plunger in and the claws fell out.
Guess I'll be heading to Harbor Freight to pick up another one tomorrow.
They seem to be made of aluminum, so the magnetic one won't work.

18-19 .. u don't have to remove the gril on 15-17

I have had my heads out at least 4 times on my 17, wouldn't have a clue on removing the grille. Proof of my headlight out and my grille intact:
