Finally updated today. Several hours waiting in range of my router got nothing, so I downloaded from Ford Owner's site and used an 8 gig stick (why would you possibly need a 32 gig stick to do this?) and it went fine.

But so far I'm not seeing much difference. Some minor tweaks. Have to find some info on what the big advantages are and how to enable them.

^^^ Just saw that and was coming over to post. The question is, do we need another Sync update from Ford to get it, or does AA update independently of the rest of the Sync 3 system?

No update from ford for this, install Waze and it should pop up as an option in the maps section.

Can confirm the above: I updated Waze on my A5, it now shows up as a Maps option within Android Auto on my 2017 Lariat Sync 3.

I only see a few apps for AA, almost all of them radio streaming. And I can't seem to get AA to run on the truck. It initially sees it and trys to run maps, but then shuts it off and say I need to make setting changes, Help!?!?

Does anybody know if the Sync in the 250 is the same as our 150's. Will this update work for the F250 running 2.0?

The upgrade was successful after performing a Master Reset of the SYNC system. I plugged in the USB drive and within about 20 minutes the upgrade was complete. Installing the USB Module wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Getting the USB cable form the back disconnected was the hardest part.

Thanks for this! After seeing an update on the Sync site, I drove around for 1-1/2 hours expecting the update to finish. No luck, and nervous about shutting off the truck before it completed I had no choice. It seems to me Ford should suggest the master reset to everyone. Finished after doing that, took about 25 minutes (I was getting nervous again after the 20 minute mark had passed). I guess I'll be shopping for a USB hub after reading this thread so I can get CarPlay working... I knew I shouldn't have come here it always costs me time and money lol.
