Mine upgrade went well, the issues I've noticed is I can no longer find the door lock options (driver's only, etc...), additionally I noticed that some of the "symbols" are missing, such at the "$".

Default Successful USB Swap

Received my USB3 hub (p/: GJ7Z-19A387-B) from Walt Sweeney Ford ($52) and swapped it in today. Used two old-school can openers to gently pry the old USB hub out and swap the two cables.
2016 F150 XLT with Sync3 v2.0 - instantly recognized CarPlay.

Another great result due to this community - thanks!

Just an FYI: you can send and read text without using carplay. A long press on the voice button brings up siri instead of sync voice commands. Anything you can access with siri, you can though the sync interface without carplay. It's via bluetooth, unlike carplay which needs to be plugged in. Great for those little short hops.

I believe you can even stream podcasts, but I haven't tried it since I don't listen to podcasts. Sync will stream youtube audio and other stuff, so I don't see why a podcast woudl be any different. You'd have to give it a try yourself.

I tried carplay for a week, but found it gave me less options and fewer controls that I had with sync 3 so I turned carplay off and never looked back.

Apple maps also sucked hard, sync was much better. But I'm in Canada, so that may be the difference. Same as apps in both sync 3 and carplay; essentially useless here.

I did the Sync 3 update from 1.0 to 2.2 yesterday. Went smooth, no problems. However, I am not impressed with Android Auto. I suppose it would be nice if you had non-nav Sync 3, but otherwise, it feels like a step back.

It did take about three starts for the system to fully update, and Android Auto to start working. It told me my S7 was incompatible, but this morning, all was well.

The good thing with Android Auto is that your maps for navigation are always up to date, not updated yearly at the cost of $99 or whatever it is up to these days.

So if I'm running SYNC 3 version 2.0 I should NOT use the download link and attempt an update?
