I'm currently 2016 F150 with sync 3 vers 1.0, non-Nav. Just trying to guess my eventual update method. Or maybe somebody knows.
Interesting comment from a Ford Tech.

"When Ford puts out a major update, it always goes to Lincoln first. Probably due to the smaller units out there and smaller user base to find and fix any issues (read beta testing) before they release it to Ford branded vehicles."

Appears to explain why V2.x has released to Lincoln. Let the smaller user base test it and trouble shoot it before giving it to the millions of Fords.

In the software industry, we call that "crawl, walk, run"

Ford should just keep leaking updates... they've got a captive beta testing community right here! I'm loving the 2.2 upgrade on my 2016 non-nav XLT. Only issue I've run into is that the phone has to be unlocked to start Android Auto on plug-in. The Google maps works as well as the phone, and looks that much better on the 8" screen. Live traffic updates and "OK google" search functionality work flawlessly as well. This update totally reinforced my decision to go non-nav.

Agreed, it's awesome, and I haven't run into any problems yet st all.

This might differ depending on which phone you have, but I have Samsung Gs6, and there is a setting called smart lock, where you select which Bluetooth devices you trust, and then whenever your phone connects to say you're truck, it doesn't lock your screen, as soon as the Bluetooth disconnects, it's locked again.

Extremely frustrated...

Spent the entire morning reading this thread and I followed the Read Me instructions for Non Nav update. Downloaded the Non Nav update from this link:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-6...U1Ri16QWs/view

When trying to install update #1, I receive a message: Device Detected. Then I immediately after I receive the message Indexing Unknown. Finally I receive a message: Indexing Unknown Complete. Music continues to play, update never starts. Files in the USB Flash drive look like the attached. I have tried 2 different 16 GB Sandisk USB Flash Drives and formatted them both as FAT 32 and EXFAT. Nothing works.

Please point out my error

Yes - 2016 F150 with Sync 3 version 1.0 - not the vehicle in my signature

Can anyone that has performed the Non Nav update please take a look at either update #1 or 2 of the SyncMyRide folder. Right click and take a look at the Properties. Are the Attributes Read Only as in the attached photo?

Mine is the same - but I think I used either a 4gb or 16gb fat freshly formatted.

I have tried 2 freshly formatted FAT32 16 GB USB flash drives. I can't get any of them to work.
