I misunderstood your original post. From your description I thought you might be new to all this and were describing normal Android auto. There are a lot of people coming to these sync threads asking about AA and CP and asking how it all works without bothering to read the threads and inform themselves first. Had you actually included the link you referenced in your post it would have been a lot clearer what you meant.
Second, even if I went and searched you tube, there's no guarantee what I found there would be what you were referencing. You reference a video in a post, provide a link, simple. Don't expect people to run out and hunt down info about what you want help on. That's just discourteous.

I was getting ready to install 2.2 and after reading the instructions i a question. at first i am suppose to unzip file one onto the flash drive and install. Then unzip file two and install, so are you suppose to delete file one on the flash drive before unzipping file two or do you leave file one on the flash drive?
Also is there any in improvements, bugs fixed in this 2.2 or is it just for Android auto & car play?
Thanks.

Has anybody who has installed this update lose your sync voice command functionality? I seen a post or two somewhere in this thread or another where a user reported problems with their sync voice commands (or whatever they are called).
My sync voice capability works better than ever after the update. And when connected to AA, Google voice commands work great as well. No issues with either.
So now that I have CarPlay up and running...
not all that impressed. Really doesn't do anything the sync3 system didn't.
With Sync3 I got Nav w/ traffic info etc. I got text messages. I got phone. I got all my music on my iPhone+whatever Sync3 services (sat/am/fm)
With CarPlay I get Nav (without traffic info)... DISABLES Sync3 Nav unless I unplug my phone... not appreciating that. (thought I could go back & forth). I also get whatever audio Apple says I can have... (can't seem to EASILY switch back to Sync via voice). Got phone (doesn't seem any different than Sync3). Got text (doesn't seem any different than Sync3)
The Apple maps may be nice in 5-8 years when my Sync3 Nav is so out of date I'm driving through fields. I do like that it seems easier to input via Siri a destination which could be cumbersome (rigid commands for Sync3)
I TOTALLY HATE that I need to unplug my phone to go back to Sync3 Nav... I thought you could switch back & forth between the environments.
As far as the Sync3 v2.2 software... No issues, I like it. Don't have an Android product so no exposure to AndroidAuto other than an icon that doesn't work for me.

^I use Android Auto with the Version 2.2 and can exit AA at any time and go back to Sync3 without disconnecting my cell. On the bottom Right of the screen, there is an icon that you click on, then you get a screen that asks "return to Sync3" or something like that. Does CP not have this option?
