For the same reasons people enjoy them on other passenger vehicle types I’d guess...

Sadly most manufacturers fix known problems, on the F150 they are features. Many examples and most of the TSBs actually fix nothing. All noises fit into the it is normal, although only normal for Ford and this generation of F150.

Known issues:
frozen locks and latches since 2015 (every winter becomes bigger problem)
leaky, noises, and broken Panoramic roof, since 2015
warped dashes since 2015, bigger issues. XLT or below, since 2015 better in 2019
problems check valves/vacuum 4x4 system, previous model year problems still usually check valve
Motor sounds like diesel, direct injected 5.0, since 2018
bad shifts clunks, since 10 speed 2018
tranny noise high pitched wine, mostly notice garages and drive through, since 10 speed
oil burning 5.0, seems to be limited to some 2018 5.0 (mine), with an occasional 2019

I have had more problems with either of my new F150s then all other vehicles combined. That is since Nov 1982. Ford quality reminds me of the old domestic vehicles of the 80s. Sadly Ford’s old fashion Customer Service organization needs an update too. I get better problem resolution at any retail store. My experience with first Lemon on Ford’s outsourcing to Concentrix complete failure. Results 9 month rental car and many start over at step 1. In the end love my new truck noises and all but last time I will give Ford my hard earned $$.

I don’t have a sunroof on my Lariat but sometimes a clear FIXED glass panel with a closeable shade would be awesome to lighten up the interior of my truck’s black interior. I have no interest in actually opening it, just want a clear panel.

Every truck does not have all these problems. The reality is when you sell the most vehicles you will show the most problems.

I'm not sticking up for Ford (even if my truck has been flawless) it bothers me to read all these problems but if you think they're the only ones with issues you haven't been on any of the other forums.

https://www.ramforum.com/forums/engine-performance.188/

If there are four million 13 gen F150's or two hundred thousand 5th gen Rams on the road, which one do you think you'll hear about having the most problems with?

Here's hoping all OEM's improve and these forums will be more about mods, performance and generally helping people instead of bitch sessions.

I've never gotten a sunroof in my recent vehicles (Ford Escape, 3 F150's)... With my luck it would just be a matter of WHEN, not IF, that they would leak. Had a VW Jetta (2004) that I owned for 13 years and that was solid (never leaked, never broke down).

I would assume the same reasons you'd want one in any other vehicle...?

Anyone who would put a hole in a perfectly good Roof, I don't understand with all of the Threads on the Plastic Tracks Shattering, The panels misaligned, Seal going bad,Headliners getting destroyed, Drain tubes becoming disconnected in the door pillars, further wetting the Interior and Wind Noise and Ford hasn't fixed it yet and never will,I will never get a sunroof or Pano roof, Out
