Cotus = Bogus!
It is amazing that boxes, millions of them on a daily basis, can be accurately tracked but large trucks get lost. Cotus supposedly helps us to track our truck. Not mine.
I have watched my truck countdown to zero for weeks, and now my ETA falls off the chart. What is really funny is that my ETA only changed once around mid April from 5/11 to 5/3, yet till this day my Cotus status is "awaiting shipment." Funny how the countdown was consistent all the way to the last day while this status has been locked in "awaiting shipment" the whole time. You have to wonder who in the world is running this system? You have to wonder how UPS' and FEDEX's millions of boxes can be tracked on a daily basis, yet Ford can't track something of much greater size, much less in quantity, and much greater in value. For me this is absolute negligence. I mean...you really can't update my status? This is like Ford saying to me, "too bad, that's how it is." Yes, that's how it is, but that stinks one a customer service standpoint.
I am not just speaking for myself. I have witnessed many people in worse situations than mine. And this bothers me for this shows me what Ford thinks of the customer, especially that they don't do a damn thing to make up for the customers inconvenience. I guess I am spoiled with Honda. I have had much superior service from them for over two decades - not surprising being that they rank, bar none, number 1 in customer service.
Too add insult to injury, you think Ford would enhance things with Cotus? On the contrary! The website has slowed substantially to less than snail speed. To be honest, it would be better if Ford had never designed Cotus. They are fomenting false expectations with the consumer being that such a system is so dysfunctional. I would love to see a collaborated effort putting together an open letter to Ford and publishing it on USA Today. One thing that really nettles me is mistreatment of the customer. And this situation with Cotus underscores how Ford feels about customers. This has been an ongoing problem enduring for several months. And nothing has been done to alleviate these problems. Sadly, one Ford customer rep stated these problems to be minor! YGTBKM!!!!!
So if you just placed an order recently, don't let Cotus manage your expectations.

Ford knows exactly where your truck is. It's awaiting shipment! They don't need to be any more transparent than that - honestly I'm surprised they let people track their order at all. There's no incentive for them to do so, really.
I agree with everything that you've typed, MG.
Also starting to believe that Ford may be withholding delivery of the 2015's to frustrate customers into buying whatever remaining 2014's are still on the lots. Either that or there is something fundamentally wrong with this model, for which they are understandably reluctant to provide transparency. I too am completely frustrated with their useless "customer service" phone reps, COTUS, et al, and will have nothing more to do with them.
Good luck with your order, MG; I'm outta here. -S2

I don't agree with what you are saying. Cotus is still in beta. It wasn't created for consumer use. It just so happened someone found out about it and its existence spread online. I think it's great Ford even has Cotus. Last vehicle I ordered from Ford a few years ago, Cotus didn't even exist. I called Ford direct to track my car and they were great about giving me updates. Funny you mention Honda. You can't even order a vehicle through Honda so there is really no comparison. The reality is you need to be getting updates through your dealership, not relying on Cotus.
I generally agree with ODucksFan - the Ford reps on here have continually stated that COTUS is in beta and not ready for prime time (no sh*t...).
When I had my ordering agent call Ford to find out status (COTUS showed it was delivered but it wasn't) here is the response I got:
"Ford would like to know who referred you to the website [COTUS] since this is a test site that should not be used. This is an internal Ford website and does not display real time data."
However, how does a company like Ford not have better control of an internal website in testing mode? And it does show real-time data - not all the time, and not always accurate, but based on my expertise (my CV: 20 weeks of checking daily - usually multiple times - plus reading thousands of forum posts
) I would say it is around 80% accurate. (But when it is not accurate, it is f-ing maddening). I'm not complaining - if they did it right I wouldn't have anything to check.
All that being said, I've concluded I'd prefer 80% accurate information to no information at all. What else would I be checking obsessively every day while I wait? The only other time-killers I've found have been reading these forums and buying stuff for my truck. And Lord knows I don't need to do any more of either of those than I already do!

Now that is funny. I had just the opposite. I called the 800 customer service number. The lady referred me to Cotus. Go figure! I still stick with Cotus =
bogus!

I don't think it is great that the truck I ordered has been awaiting shipment since 4/2, and I have driven in one built after mine with mostly the same options. Obviously something happened to my truck. No idea what. No idea when it will get here, Cotus (Ford) and dealer are outside of the delivery window given to me. Not a thing I can do, disgruntled yes, but what can I really do. It is a royal pita.
Ordered 3/6
Built 4/2 Awaiting shipment ever since. A lot of trucks at my dealer been coming in built after mine.
