Here's some crappy shots. Looks like it's just a fan at the op. Not sure what the black wrapped part is at the lower area.

Thanks looks like they kind of went back to the old design minus the filter.

Wanted to give a big thumbs up for Tim (SeatGuru). I had one of his early 3d printed exhaust kits break on me and he sent me a whole new and improved kit, no questions asked. The new black tubing is much easier to work with as well.

Not only do his kits work to fix the 2015-17 seat problem, his customer service is top notch.

Been a blast helping you guys out! I finally got my bigger printer online this weekend and WOW it is huge. I can now print up to 16" x 16" x 16" parts OR in this case print lots of Ford Seat fixes!!!

Thanks again for all the support and for waiting when I was behind guys. I am still getting tons of emails from guys with kits that have had great success! Even had a few with other Fords try a kit and had good success there to!

-Tim

Tim - has anyone tried it on the 13+ MKZ? I had a TSB done on it where they completely replaced the seat foam and something else, requiring the car over a week and to remove the seats. It made no difference, IMO it's 100% identical in form to the F150 (seams to generate a lot of heat in the back/mid of the seat, the bottom cushion cools GREAT, but the back NEVER seems to cool).

Thanks,
Chris

I was a little surprised that my contact did not wish to share more technical details regarding the innards of the 2018 seat re-design.... lest Forum members might pick apart WHY they did this or that vs. something else.... I guess I see their point but I have grater faith in Forum Folks than THAT!!

I also pointed out the the seats in the Continental and Navigators are even getting COMMERCIALS about their function etc. and that I kinda wish they could find THEIR way into the higher end F-150.... probably a weight issue to do so and keep MPG higher, but they look SWEET.... gonna drop into a bigger Lincoln dealer and check it out in person.... smile....

Meanwhile, have not heard any negative reports on 2018 ventilated seats so at least moving forward they seem like a vast improvement over the factory or TSB versions of 2015-17s without Tim's mod!!.... AZPLAT

So I removed my sock and installed Tim's solution. Intake and exhaust, and I can't tell a difference. Both come out under the seat, on both seats and there is minimal airflow. What am I missing? What should I expect out of these seat "coolers"?

It's not about air flow,,, it's about cooling/ heating the air in the seat and there for the seat cushions there for your body.. If you just are interested in airflow buy a 2018..

I'm afraid that's about what you can expect.. The big improvement is that you can run the dam thing and cool your butt without burning your back as the factory set up did.
These seats are the only thing I hate about my truck, most uncomfortable I have ever had and a disappointment as far as heating and cooling..
