Now I have an 18 KR version and Wow, is all I got to say. Seat back and bottom all cool very well, in fact I have to turn it down after just a minute or two. Also the first thing that came to mind was how fast the seat starting cooling. It was way faster than my 15.

We have been in the upper 80's to very low 90's so still very warm. I keep forgetting to feel the backs of the seats to see if they are getting hot or not. Seems like that will not be an issue now since they no longer use the TED and just circulate air.

All I got to say is I am 100% happy with my seat cooling now. Too bad they didn't go this route to begin with.
Great to hear, Bob.... yeh... you were an early participant on this thread...before the TSB....so glad to read your remarks.... AZPLAT

I just got an idea for those with poor cooling performance...

How about just disconnecting the TED so the seats are just ventilating?

I just purchased a '15 Platinum and I get mixed answers from dealer and here and Crc about what areas are supposed to be cooled. I know the bottomed work but not the backs. Are the backs in fact supposed to be cooled? I' inn Hawaii and it's always 85 and sunny and the cooled seats was something I required. Just want to make sure it's working before warranty runs out.

Did the TSB-0154 actually fix the cooling of backseat issue? Reading every post on this thread is very time consuming

Thanks, been keeping up with things here and there. Sure was glad to hear they finally changed the design for the seats.

You can actually feel cool air coming out of the holes. Works real nice.

Got to think some ya'lls work here had pushed them to a system that actually works.

How would you get any air flow (ventilating as you say) if you disconnect the TED?

Thanks for the write-up. Glad to hear they have fixed this.

There is a fan pushing air through.

No there's not a separate fan, if there was we would all be a lot happier. The blower, cooler, and heater are all encompassed in the TED.

I am not a TED expert by any means, but it seems the TEDs work in opposite ways depending on if the heated or cooled seats are enabled. In cooling mode, the cooled output is directed to the blower and then into the seats. In heating mode, the heated output is directed to the blower and then into the seats.

That's where I'm wondering if Forscan could effectively do the same thing as the 2018 trucks. Check out this page:
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...7/#post5461918

776-01-01 Low Heat Values
776-02-01 Medium Heat Value
776-03-01 High Heat Values
776-04-01 Low Cool Values
776-05-01 Medium Cool Values
776-06-01 High Cool Values
776-07-01 Blower Voltage
776-08-01 DTC Lost Communication Settings
The idea is determine what the hex values for Low, Medium, and High Cool settings. Best guess is this is what happens when you turn on the cooled seats. If you have it on 3 blue bars, it's the high cool value. If you have it on 1 blue bar, its the low cool value.

Seems like there could a few things you could do. Effectively make it so the TED is never cooling b/c the High Value is so high - like 100F. In this way, the TED is never using power to create cooled output because the value is so high. What I am not sure is if it would actually heat in this case, but I think may not since the seat is in cooling mode.

Other idea is to adjust those values to something crazy cold. I suppose you could generate more heat exhaust this way and probably outside of the duty cycle of the TED itself. I'm also wonder what the blower voltage does as well. Can that be increased to get more output from the blower - like when you first turn the cooled seats on.

I tried the cooling seat for the first time tonight and it got cold enough I had to turn it off. I have used the heat feature several times and it works very good as well. The 2018s have been either fixed or greatly improved.
