Console Vault
Lucky? You have a different console. Yours has a perfectly rectangular opening. Mine does not, nor do the two in the pics I posted. And the lids for the vaults in the two pics I posted are quite different if you'll notice the wide "border" around the lid on the ConsoleVault. That "border" is absent on the Tuffy except for a small area on the left and right sides.

Anyone used this one? Appears to have a much larger door opening than the ConsoleVault brand.

I do like that slide rail idea.

Seriously, your sticking a hunk of plastic/teflon coated metal in your muzzle/down the barrel....and a totally exposed trigger
That's not only very dangerous, it's really not smart at all and is borderline irresponsible....oh and it's dangerous & stupid....
In this case it is up and out of the way and with a safety engaged it is plenty safe. If the gun was pointing up or towards a passenger where the trigger could be pushed in that direction I could understand.
Definitely don't agree with your style of delivery, however. Tactless and uncouth.
I'm a certified instructor, and I wouldn't treat my students nor any gun-toting forum stranger that way. How about being tactful and educating/sharing wisdom in a friendly manner instead of jumping down peoples throats?
While I would normally agree with this, that's a Springfield, and it has a grip safety, which must be engaged in conjunction with the squeezing of the trigger.

I'm not a "instructor" and not trying to impress people and don't have "students"
Don't like my "delivery" then get a hurt feelings report and send it in. I'm not here to impress people with how good I can sugar coat the truth, if you can't call a spade a spade without getting your feelings hurt, then you have issues.
Point is it's very dangerous and stupid to stick a rod of any kind down you loaded firearm's barrel & having a open trigger is just asking for problems.
Does not matter what kind of firearm it is, how "safe" it is or the different number of safety's. We all kind what a joke the Croatia $200 dollar special Springfield turned into a gold mine by adding unnecessary crap to it and then selling it for 3 times what it's worth.
Any "instructor" worth a **** would not attempt to justify sticking a rod down the barrel and a totally exposed trigger by making excuses about how safe the firearm is.
Added on edit:: Tactless and uncouth That's a riot, can't stop laughing. I got my 1st personal CCP in 1985, have been carrying concealed professionally since 1983, been a firearms instructor/range officer since the early 80's till I retired in 2002, carried concealed all over the world, instructed/RO in places where nothing grows in the sand and the trainees speak **** for english....went from carrying a gun for a living to running fire/ems and patching bullet holes & working in level II trauma center ER to small hospital ER. I've forgotten more about range safety and how to impress somebody with the title "instructor" then most "certified instructors" think they know.
