Connector problem
Has this happened to anyone else......
First of all I don't drive my tuck that much during the work week (15k miles). I have my little car for my work commute. When I do drive my 2015 F150 Lariat, I love it.... well, I did! Just this past Friday, I'm driving down the road and my instrument panel starts flickering and a warning box keeps displaying "Brake Fluid Low" coming out non stop. A clicking sound kept coming from underneath the glove compartment. I immediately pulled into a parking lot and shut off the truck. Couldn't start it back up. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and it turned back on. After making another stop, I was able to remote start the truck but I could not power the rest of the truck once I got in it. Not even the automatic unlock feature worked when I grabbed the door handle. It was very frustrating. It kept saying "Key Not Detected." So I take my vehicle home and the next work day I call Ford road side assistance to take my truck to the dealership. That morning, the damn truck starts. I still have the tow truck take it though. Later that day the dealer calls me to go in and see what they found. This is what they found.
This connector is located on the passenger side underneath the dash. One end of the connector could only be seen from underneath the hood behind battery and the other end from underneath the glove box. As you can see, a lot of corrosion and a broken off male prong. Still awaiting the response from the dealer as to what the next step is. Apparently they had to send pics to Ford because they had not encountered this before.
It's frustrating that this vehicle is not even a year old and I am having this issue. Has anyone out there had this happen to them?

Wherever that little group of wires that turned green is running, most likely the under hood end, water is wicking up the wire to the plug. It doesn't necessarily mean there is a water leak in the truck, it means there is a weather proof connector somewhere along that wire that is letting water in. Used to see this all the time with the 1998-2000 Mercedes Benz M class O2 sensors. The craziest case of this I have ever seen was a late 90's Cavalier with a check engine light. It was a leaking fuel injector that allowed fuel to wick up the wire , to the engine control module and caused the check engine light to come on/took out the ECM.
