Default Climate change?

Ok. 2016 with 3000 miles.
Almost every time I start my truck the A/C defaults back to A/C on, mid blower, and recycle on. I keep it on A/C, mid blower, but fresh, NOT recycle on. Why does it default back to recyc on start up? Does this about 3/4 of the time. The temp dial is at the aprox 11 oclock position. This is the manual system and not the auto zones.
Any clue?

Nobody has experienced this? Hmmm. Guess there is a dealer visit in my near future.
I did notice that when I have the ac on (not full left for max), without the recycle on and then turn the ac off and back on, it defaults back to recycle. This can't be correct. It is very annoying to have to turn the recycle back off wvery time.
Is there some setting that I am missing?
Any Fird techs around??!!

No idea what drives it, but some parameter causes the recirc to enable automatically. I've had it do the same on mine, but I haven't used the A/C much recently to recall the scenario.

Large differences between outdoor and in-cab temperatures will make the recirc turn on. So will high humidity in the cab. If you just leave it and let it do it's thing, the recirc will turn off on its own.

Appreciate the response.
Forgot to mention I have the manual 302a unit.
I assume the manual system will not automatically turn the recirc on or off as needed. Not really sure. I did test this during a fairly chilly non humid evening too btw.
Any other insite?

I have the 302A manual HVAC as well, and I've had my recirc turn on when it's really hot out, and when it's humid. The light only seems to come on when the AC is running. I can also hear the recirc turn on when it's really cold out and I have my defroster on and set to heat, but the light doesn't come on then. The light only comes on when the AC is running.

Interesting. Wonder what the good boys at Ford were thinking here...

I know this is a stretch but curious if this just happens in the garage with motor running? Perhaps sensing the unsafe air entering the cab?

Also, the truck can warm or cool the interior faster on recirc. If there is a big difference in temps in the cab as opposed to outside the cab it might use this feature. In other words if it's really hot in the cab and really hot outside it will choose recirc. to cool the interior faster and vice-versa.

Not sure our trucks do that but have had vehicles that do.

You know, I had a Hyundai Veracruz that actually had that feature! It would sense foul air and go to recirc mode.

Didn't know that existed honestly! But, no, wasn't anything like that. Doesn't seem to make a differance if it is mild temp or not. In fact, when it is extremely hot and I turn the truck on it still defaults to recirc...which it shouldn't until the temp lowers a bit.
It even does this when the evac is completely off and I start the truck, it will turn the ac mid and recirc back on.
Was hoping it was some default setting that I could change.
I am officially perplexed.
