Clear Windshield Tint?
Looking to tint my windshield with a clear UV tint. Looking at Llumar Air 80 or 3M Crystalline 70 and some others. How do you all like the Air 80 or Crystalline 70? Ive tried 50% on the windshield before and it was too dark and had to remove it cause I got pulled over for it. Looking for something invisible now to block the heat from the sun. Im leaning towards the Air 80 but just concerned how blue it will be and in some pics it looks hazy.
Also, the dots on the windshield on this trucks suck for putting any kind of film on. Thats how the police officer noticed the 50% on the windshield. The dots create a "border" where the film dosent totally adhere. Is it still obvious with one of these 70% or 80% films?
Thanks-

I now have 55% on my 2018, don't think it is too dark, but I am not the cop who is going to pull me over. I guess I will find out next month when I travel through California. I don't see a border around the dots either.
I have the Crystalline 90 on my windshield, and it is nearly invisible. The UV/IR blocking of the 90 is just very slightly lower than the 70, yet almost completely clear.
Here's a pic of the film edge around the dots in normal lighting:

Here's the film edge in direct lighting, this is the most visible I can make it:

If the cop shines his flashlight on it, he'd be able to tell. Short of that it is invisible. Does a great job keeping the heat out, too.

I use Crystalline 90 on my windshield as well and love it. No noticeable tint at all but does a good job keeping the heat out. I'm in central Texas and my truck is usually in the driveway; with darker ceramic on the sides/back and the Crystalline on the front even super hot days are bearable when I first get in the truck after it's been sitting out.
The trouble with the windshield is nothing is allowed there except for a select few states. Luckily I got a warning...but was told they could declare the vehicle unsafe and tow it right there. The front sides in most states your allowed something and it comes down to percentage. But the windshield not even 100% is technically allowed most states. No film or glazing. The penalties is much steeper for the windshield than the side windows. Side windows your just facing a ticket.
Even with the 90 on our trucks...you can notice theres film on the windshield from those pics.

My truck is all Crystalline... 70 on the windshield, 40 on the sides. Love it - especially living in Texas where it's *****-hot in the summer. It's not cheap, and I drove a good distance for a "premiere" certified installer, but it was worth it. I was intending to do 90 on the windshield, but the installer convinced me that 70 provided far better IR/UV rejection, and was effectively invisible.
You'd have to know exactly what to look for to tell that my windshield is tinted. I'm in public safety and around cops frequently... no one has ever said a word, and even the ones I've told have been like "really? it's tinted?" No issues at night either.
