Default Ceramic tint on windshield

Interested in opinions of ceramic tint on the windshield. I am looking at adding ceramic to the rest of the cab windows and not sure about the windshield. I am in Texas where we still have stickers on the windshield and I have other ones that go up front too. Is it durable enough if put on properly to handle these being put on and taken off annually?
any input is appreciated

I did my windshield.... NO regrets!

As for your stickers, this is easy. Search for Sticker Shield on Amazon. The product works great. I have both my registration and toll tag on the windshield with the product, it has worked perfectly for 2 years!

I am in TN and that is one of the first things I did when I got my truck. Cause colors to be off if wearing sunglasses but nothing to worry about.

Have 3M crystalline 70 percent on the windshield of both of our cars. It really is amazing for heat and glare reduction. Sunglasses are barely needed and the dash is never hot anymore. A quality shop will cut a little square in the tint around your stickers, so if you ever need to replace them you just have them put in the same spot. I’m happy florida doesn’t do the stickers though in my case. I have never had the crystalline stuff distort the colors with polarized sunglasses on. Also 70 percent does not seem to affect vision out the windshield at night. It’s not noticeable if it does. They also have 90 percent that has the heat reduction as well and is essentially clear.

I am up the street from you..I did one shade dark on mine as it helps reduce glare, Here in Texas I didnt want to draw attention to me, dont want troopers stopping me anymore then what is needed. I had a local guy here do the job, I was thinking of doing it myself and actually did my rear windows with die cut from ebay. I dont care for the Ceramic on any of my tint, I opted for the carbon stuff. I was wondering how the install guy was going to do the inspection sticker(which he removed from the windshield to move it to a better, tighter location), what my guy did was he trimmed a little bottom corner about 3-4 inches so the next time around you can do it without tint. We have the toll tag under the rearview mirror which he removed and restuck on the windshield tint.

My installer offered to remove/install any future stickers as well. He has done 5000 times as many as I so I said go for it.

You dont have to have tint to have UV protection. I could have gone clear and had the same protection level, but to reduce a little glare I chose 1 tint level. I believe the laws in texas are that you cant have any tint on the Windshield. I didnt want to go down that road and dont need any state inspectors nor law enforcement probing around and if found I dont want to deal with removing the film.

It does reduce heat transfer thru the WS enough to be considered especially in Texas.

My guy charged me $100 labor + cost of film. I could have provided my own film but he has some quality film. He needs some time to do it though as it is very intense laying it down mistake free.

Hope this helps.

Is there completely, or as close to it, clear "tint" for just heat reduction?

Same here. 50% ceramic. Had done when I still lived in NC but now reside in Rocky Top... NO regrets whatsoever. Did 20% ceramic on the doors too, LOVE IT. It's been Mid Nineties the last few days and the heat rejection is amazing...

+1 I'd like to hear from those who have done it in clear as well and if was worth it

do they remove the rear view mirror to install or is there a hairline split above the mirror? dash cams? regular cleaning/wiping?
