Default Center Console: How solid?

Trying to decide between the jump seat or flow through console for a Lariat I'm about to be shopping for. I have the jump seat in my XLT, and I like it pretty well.
Question is how solid is the console? Does it start to develop a bunch of squeaks and rattles when going down a rough road or bumps after a while? I'm very OCD about sounds in the cabin. I get one and I'll hunt it down relentlessly until it's found, then apply some 3m foam tape or a wedge of some sort to get it to stop. If it's a rattle bucket, I'd probably rather stick with the jump seat.

I've only had mine a month, but I'm just like you when it comes to rattles. I've checked it out and it seems pretty solid. There really isn't much to rattle or shake.

Now, my drivers side door has a very light rattle towards the end of the armrest (the area just to the drivers left and slightly behind you) that goes away when I put gentle pressure against the armrest. I'm going to have to hunt it down. I have a service appt set for 2 weeks from now, I'm debating having them take a peek at it....

Mine seems really solid. This is my favorite upgrade so far. Looks, feels and functions so much better! Was worth every penny

I saw your post in the other thread, it looks great. I have been tossing around the idea also of swapping mine out. Is the height of the console armrest the same as the center seat armrest? It looks lower, and I'm used to the height of what I have.

Also, how many pennies did it run you?

Seems solid to me. My wife's 25lb dog lays on the center console on roads trips.

I wouldn't worry about the console... you'll be too busy with the doors rattling. Seriously though, the console has given me no problems at all.

I think it's a little lower but it doesn't seem awkward or uncomfortable to me. The leather lid actually feels more comfortable to me. I bought the console from lkq on eBay for $319 (they still have another one posted for sale). The extra pieces needed were about $200 from tasca. Most expensive part was the pocket that replaced the shifter, so if you find a console without that it might save you some money. To me, the console is so much better than the jumpseat.

Unless you have a need for the extra seating, get the console. It's simply superior to the jump seat. Massive improvement in storage capacity and comfort.

Yes, I agree. I want it mainly for the additional storage. I hardly ever have enough passengers to use the center front. Heck my back seat is barely used lol.
