Catch Can with a Tune?
I have just added a 5 star tune to my 2015 3.5 Ecoboost. I have heard that a catch can is necessary to keep the engine longevity in check. It seems there are some who swear you need it and others say the exact opposite. Can anyone clarify if this is necessary or not?
Also, is there anything I can do to make sure the tune does not hinder the longevity of the engine and transmission?

Well you can see this post I just put up a while ago: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/first...ropped-419256/
My crankcase pressure sensor failed (electrical failure). But after checking the PCV and intake, it all looks good and not gummed up after 94k... No idea what the tops of the valves look like but that makes me feel better and I'm not worried about need one.

I'd also suggest that the only way you can be completely sure the tune won't hurt the longevity of the engine and trans is to remove it.
Adding a catch can is not something that's 100% necessary , but they definitely help to "catch" or prevent the oil from re-entering the intake tract. Below is a good article I came across on line that explains the catch can function more in depth worth checking out. The best thing I've personally found to help out with longevity is maintenance. Keep up on the fluids including differential transmission, oil changes, tune ups, etc. We do spark plugs for example every 15,000-20,000 miles on performance modified vehicles to ensure they are always getting the best performance and efficiency possible.

Catch can? I don't know, the port injection has helped with valve coking, but it won't hurt anything if you do put one in.
