Default Cargo camera

Just curious, but why has no one thought to put a camera in the third brake light to keep an eye on the cargo area? Just thinking out loud...

You could always use a 2CH dash cam with a power pack. That way the rear facing camera would monitor the truck bed.

The 2016 may have it, I saw a post that the 2016 was going to have 6 cameras with the tech package and adaptive cruise control option. I don't know if they will put one there or not but seems plausible. They even said the super duties will have 7 cameras.

and now it appears the F250 will have it. Think it could be adapted to the F150?

I just installed the Black Vue 650s 2 channel system on my truck last night. Great system, forward cam is 1080p rear is 720p. Both have great resolution. Viewing is done with your smart phone or remove the sd card to view in a computer. It also has the option to or not to record audio in the cabin. [thedashcamstore.com]

I think the camera-source team has a kit for this available.

I have been wanting to install that cam also... have they changed their policy on the cloud registration stuff yet, where installing the app requires you to agree to share your location with them? If you refuse, you basically can't use the app to access camera footage? I am hoping they have changed that since i looked last year.

I asked them about that and they told me that is was for, say if your out 4 wheeling and you wanted someone back home to watch, they would be able to through the cloud. I believe you would have to have your password to get into it [i think]. The dash cam store has got some really good people to answer any questions you may have. Also the cloud service is free and you don't have to use it.

Let me know if you see a way to disable it yet... it is a significant privacy violation, as far as I am concerned, to require you to send your position to them in order to use the product you already paid for. Unethical also.
