Not good. You should be able to control the lights from coming on or off.
I totally agree!

I have noticed that hitting the door lock button on the remote shuts the lights off, but the damage to night vision has already been done.

The Police Dark option talked about above is here:

I haven't had time to investigate with a dealer yet to find out if it would do exactly what I'd want, and the OP is looking for a quick fix.

I had the same campsite / light issue. I don't like to upset drunk campers late at night :-)

I took my truck to the dealership yesterday and they changed it to dark mode right there on the service drive. They used a laptop and did it in about 5-7 minutes. Most of the time spent was waiting for the laptop to communicate with and reflash the computer. They didn't charge anything for it.

I like the way the lights work now.

Tin Boat, I just had it done and now the switch for the interior courtesy lights does nothing at all. Is that they way yours works? I thought I'd be able to control whether interior lights came on or not with the switch, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Just a FYI ..... It's the illuminated entry feature.

The fix (albeit drastic) is to enable - police dark car. Done using FoMoCo's IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System).

I just checked it. The dome lights (I'm old school, that's what I call them) do not come on when you open the doors, no matter what you do. The dome lights work only with my overhead on/off switches. I can turn all 3 dome lights on and off at the same time with one switch, or operate the front left and right dome lights individually with their respective on/off switches. There is a center switch that depicts a light with an "X" through it. That switch doesn't operate anything now, it seems to be disabled.

Hope that answered your question.

To bad you can not have just the exterior lights disabled. PITA to always have to turn on interior lights.
