Default Camping Rig

Does anyone have their F150 set up similar to this? Looking for ideas to rig my truck up for road trip camping.

That's a beatiful rig! That right there is a fishing pro who spends months on the road for tournaments.

Yep, Brandon. I follow him and always thought that truck set up would be perfect for what I want to do as far as traveling the US on camping road trips.

That's pretty sweet. I've thought for a while that it would be cool to have something like this, or a roof top tent. Problem is that if you want to move your truck afterwards (To get ice, firewood, beer, go boating etc) then you have to pack up the tent every time.

I've been working on a design for making my own small trailer that will fit in tenting areas because I prefer those to RV lots.

It's going to be built on a 6x12 trailer. Design keeps changing slightly, and I might also make it a partial pop-up. I just want something with a queen sized bed, a small table to eat at, and have an outdoor sink. I've since also added a 5.5 foot slide-out table that comes out from under the bed like the sink does, and will have a propane grill on it, but I don't have pics handy right now.

Tear drop camper - don't forget the pull-out awnings for outdoor coverage when it's raining.

Take a look at this thread, some RTT discussion.

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/anyon...p-tent-348422/

I love my Frontrunner Featherlite (the blue XLT/beige-green RTT), quick and easy to mount & use. It's not a heavy-duty 4 season, but a great light-duty 3-season set-up.

Great way to boondoggle anywhere you can get your truck in. I've also mounted it on top of my SBS for the smaller trails. It's not so heavy (~80lbs) that it will make the SBS tipsy.
