Default A call from RAM

Evening All.
Received a call from the dealer I purchased my 2012 RAM from 6 years ago......a happy go lucky dude from "The RAM Boys" asked how the truck was and if I'm ready to slip into a new 2018....."don't own it anymore"...."Really, what do you have now?"....."Got a 2017 F150"....."Oh, moved over to the dark side, huh?......guess your sorry you did that?" "Nope. love that EcoBoost!" "Ok, well give us a call if you change your mind". "Thanks, I'm good...take care"....Dark side.....lol......

The ongoing/outgoing RAM gen is... was... hmmm... eh... but the new 2019, from the models I saw recently at the Toronto Autoshow, which were all higher trim levels, their payload was basically the same as the equivalent level F150s. So for those that just like to fluf around in a truck and tow a wheelbarrow when needed those luxury options are even. It's all a mater of likes.

No idea on payloads on XLTs or XLs level trims, but lariat levels were stuck on less than 1,300#. Which is RAMish and their Trade Mark (literally, I'd Trade if I had one lol!)

The current RAM is overdue for a major change. Maybe he called because they can't seem to get them off the lots even while heavily discounted.

I liked my 2010 but the dealership was a big turn off. And the **** shifter. So I drove just about every ford on the ford dealership and found out I like em.

Not sure where you get that F150's have a 1300lb payload anymore. That was true before the 2015 model but now, even Lariat and above usually have a payload well above that.

That's funny, cold calling, dude really wanted to sell a truck. I liked the outgoing ram but like hell im buying a design that is essentially the same one that debuted in 2009. As for the incoming 2019, it looks very bland to me. The interior looks awesome though.

I hear you brother and I was in your boat until last week. At the auto show Ford had 2 limiteds, 1 platinum and 1 diesel F150 and none of them had payload above 1,300Lbs. I took pictures of each truck for colour ref, a pick of each window sticker and of each door jamb sticker. Not just the Ford, but all the trucks on the show and some SUVs and other vehicles that we're considering for a next purchase. Unfortunately the SDcard blacked out the pics, due to bad sectors and just got defective and I could not save anything. Sometimes it shows some thumbnails, but opens a black pic again.

I wish I could post them here since that was all my intention, but I am helpless. So you can take my word and until someone with higher trim can post a pic of their limited or platinum with higher payloads I will just think that that is standard #s and not just coincidence or Ford's option. Besides that I'd think Ford would like to show off more payload than the competition and not just as the same.

This is how everything looks like:

I had a 2013 Ram. My favorite truck I have ever owned. Most comfortable plush interior, actual cooling seats, best stereo I have had in a truck since I was in high school over 20-years ago, fat and comfy steering wheel, best ride of any truck I have ever owned with the 5-link. No air leaks in the cab and super quiet, best camera system and display, 8-speed tranny always had the right gear. However they could not resolve a transfer case issue and after 3-rebuilds, i abbandoned ship. The only thing I love in my F-150 over that ram is the ECO Boost. It’s the first usable power band I have ever had in a 1/2 ton truck. And stupid fast from 0-70 off the line. The ride, the air sounds, the cheap feel of the non-cooling seats, cheap feeling steering wheel, weak premium stereo, and as much as I thought the full moonroof (that creaks all the time) was a great idea, the Central California summer makes it a really bad choice for keeping the cab cool. Did I mention the Dodge was $9k cheaper equally equipped. When dodge puts a dual turbo V6 out, I’m crossing back over to the dark side. It’s much more comfy over there
