A call from RAM
i'll have to say, i've had several F150's, a Silverado, a Titan over the years, and I'll have to say, my current 17 Ram Crew HEMI is the best truck I've had.
No transmission or shifting problems. No vibrations. the perfect with plenty of power. Can't believe I waited til now, and only $31,000
I have a 17 XLT SCREW 302A 3.5L with 9600 miles and max tow and basically every option you can get on an XLT. I love the truck, but since the first of the year I've been having the dreaded IWE gringing. It's currently at the dealer for the 3rd time now. Everything has been replaced at this point and it's still grinding intermittently.
With that said, I got a chance to check out a 2019 Ram Limited and Rebel at the Cleveland auto show. All I can say is wow! They are great looking trucks, even better than my F 150. Interior wise, the new Ram blows away the current F 150. Ford will need to step it up, but I'm sure they will.

The problem I have with Ram is not the truck. I like the truck and they are surprisingly pretty reliable. The problem is FCA or whoever owns Ram. In the last 20 years three different companies has owned Chrysler; Daimler, Cerebus Capital, and now Fiat. Fiat is looking for a buyer for Chrysler now. Didn't want to buy a truck and not know if FCA or even Ram would even exist in 5 years.
I really like RAM trucks, but our local dealer is a sham. We bought a brand new charger RT in 2015 from them, 2 months later it gets flooded. They immediately totaled the car and we wanted to buy another one and the salesman had been fired for "deceiving customers" well the new salesman somehow couldn't get within 5k from what we paid for the same car 2 months ago. Then he insulted me by insinuating that we were in over our heads on the first one and he was certain we bought a SXT model. Went to Toyota and bought a new Highlander, then bought myself a F150.
I hear you brother and I was in your boat until last week. At the auto show Ford had 2 limiteds, 1 platinum and 1 diesel F150 and none of them had payload above 1,300Lbs. I took pictures of each truck for colour ref, a pick of each window sticker and of each door jamb sticker. Not just the Ford, but all the trucks on the show and some SUVs and other vehicles that we're considering for a next purchase. Unfortunately the SDcard blacked out the pics, due to bad sectors and just got defective and I could not save anything. Sometimes it shows some thumbnails, but opens a black pic again.
I wish I could post them here since that was all my intention, but I am helpless. So you can take my word and until someone with higher trim can post a pic of their limited or platinum with higher payloads I will just think that that is standard #s and not just coincidence or Ford's option. Besides that I'd think Ford would like to show off more payload than the competition and not just as the same.
This is how everything looks like:

As for Ram, had enough bad experiences with Chrysler products to say never again. I even used to prefer the look (and sound) but no thanks.
