Default Built in wireless charging pad

Has anyone tried one of these https://www.crutchfield.com/p_142FDQ...fdq01&skipvs=T. Looks like a great use for this little used area.

Well, that's nifty. The only thing, it seems to cover up the USB ports underneath.

I could make this for a hell of a lot less than 100 bucks and you could maintain your factory usb and match the factory leather. Instead of installing a screen there, I would mount a wireless charger. Built in wireless charging pad-zrfdvrh.jpg

Interested also - also, what are the dimensions of the insert piece? I could get my tape measure, but I'm at work. Thanks

I built one for my old Mazda for like $30, you just need a wireless charger- take it apart and you'll find the charger coil and you can put it wherever you want. Just cover it with a very thin piece of plastic

Would you still be able to use the storage space there?

Agreed. I'd like to get the dimensions of this piece to 3D print an insert. I think I'd like something like you're suggesting that has a drop-in fit so it's easily removed to access the small storage below.
