Default Build Dates to avoid

Looking to pick up an F150 from a local dealer. Have been looking at the inventory. Are there any build periods I should avoid, or maybe lets say purchase something built after a specific date or from a specific plant. Ive noticed some with build dates as old as Jan 2016. Is this typical or are these sitting on lots for specific reasons. Thanks!

Some dealers have 12 month or older trucks. Depends how equipped. No date issues, because fixes should be applied.

Back in the day they used to say to avoid build dates just prior to Christmas or New Years as people were in "party mode" on those days. No idea if it is still true.

Avoid any day of the month that has 28, 29,30 or 31 days.

Actually it doesn't matter when it a truck was built. As to verify any and all recalls/TSB have actually been done, check over the vehicle and drive away with a smile as wide as an interstate.

in all seriousness, anything monday, anything after a big holiday (as has been said before). The best time to buy is after the summer and winter retooling periods (july and december).

Mine was built the monday after 4th of july in 2015 (monday the 6th) and holy crap, it was full of issues.

Both plants run 7 days a week. Why should you avoid a Monday truck?
