Did you attach the stoppers to the hood or the deflector? If attached to the hood they shouldn't wear on the paint.
For me I did attach them to the hood (which was a visual eye sore for me). For what it is worth the clip on the drivers side came off as well, but only 1/2 of what the passenger side was.

What I did to fix it was to take a pair of Vise Grips, put lots of padding on them (including wooden shims) and compressed the metal where the clip was attached.

Definitely should not have had to go through that. However after doing it I've had no further problems and like the way the shield looks and works.
That is a ballsy move on the compression. No cracked paint? I think that is what I would have to do even with a new one coming under warranty. It is the only way to solve the issue with this deflector.

Shakes, vibrates on the interstate. Very poor design. Also overpriced. Certainly not meant for the long haul. I'll be surprised if anyone keeps in on for long.

It's a POS.
Going through a tunnel car wash was the clue to me that I had a problem. When it got to the air dryer the driver side was flapping like it was in a tornado. The rest was solid. I am just not a big fan of applying big structure directly to the body. I worry about sun fade showing if the structure is ever removed.

I had the same problem on the passenger side with my erg deflector, but the clip was strong enough that is never backed off. The clip compressed the hood. It did crack the paint but I had some touch up paint and just repainted where it cracked.

I put a chrome Stampede on and it's fit is perfect. It doesn't make contact anywhere but at the 5 connection points. I've had it to the speed limiter with no noise issues. Not sure it really defects bugs but it looks great and protects the hood just as well.

Just looking at your pictures makes me cringe. When I read how the OEM attaches I knew I was looking elsewhere.

No... Return it and get your money back is the best way. You can thank me later.

So it cracks the paint on your new truck and that's okay??

Seriously??

Curious how the Stampede attaches on the end points as there are no screw holes in hood. Don't they have to use a compression fitting as well?

There are slots under the end seal strips. They include plastic grommets that go in the slots, like drywall anchors.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the Stampede and I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just don't like the look of them, even though they are quite similar to the OEM. Might have to do with the width, extending beyond the hood line left and right. Just wish I could figure out how to make the OEM work without compressing the hood to do it.

In the photos I saw prior to purchasing I thought the same thing but once installed it isn't wider than the hood. It just covers the gap between the hood and the fender. I think it looks wider in pictures because of its stand-off from the hood.

Hope you find the one
