Default bug deflector

I am considering purchasing a bug deflector. Will be doing trips to southern Texas and the last time I did the bugs owned my windshield.
Are there any that are better or worse than the others?

If you want it to actually deflect bugs, get the kind that mounts on clips, and not the low profile kind that sticks to your hood. The clip version will create an airflow across the hood that will fling those bugs over your cab

Unless you get this one... I have this, it is held with 3M and has perfect fit.... The center has deflector shape to push the airflow up Lund AVS Matte Textured

Most bug deflectors just deflect money out of your wallet.

This made me laugh pretty good. I wish I had all the $ I have spent over the years.

I have the Wade bug deflector. It mounts with 4 screws under the hood. All of the other ones i found have 2 screws and two clips that clip over tape that you apply on your hood. I keep my trucks at least 10 years and never liked the clip design for fear of what it might do to the paint - 10 years of vibration, etc subjected to that tape. I bought this to protect from rock chips on the lip of the hood and as far up as it can. If it deflects any bugs then that'll be an added bonus.

I had a GM deflector on my previous 1999 Suburban, ... Sold it in 2014... Still had the original deflector on.... Not a single stone chip or sand blast when I sold it.. Even the windshield was mint... I think it helped to protect the windshield as well.. Paint still shined like new...
